At Farmhouse Furnishings in Apex, NC Jim Aroner handcrafts mirrors, cabinets and tables out of pine and accents them with tin crown moldings and old hardware. They are carefully finished with up to seven coats of stain, sealer and Milk Paints.
Farmhouse exclusively uses Old Fashioned Milk Paint products. Most painted surfaces have an undercoat sealer of poly and a topcoat sealer for long lasting finish.

Their work is designed to have a worn look, the look of a piece that may have been in someone’s possession for many years, acquiring nicks, bumps, scratches and spots where the outer surfaces may have worn through, each imperfection with its own history.
