{Happy New Year!!} – and Christmas 2012 pics
Happy New Year!! I hope everyone is safe @ home enjoying time with your family. I was going to be very productive and get lots if painting done in the shop today, but we are all kinda being lazy – as we should!! I am so, so ready for the holidays to be over and get back into a routine. Everyone goes back to school and work tomorrow, so i should be cranking out lots of furniture soon ;)
………………………….
I didn’t post any pics of my Christmas decorations besides my ornament wreath, that’s because most of it was last minute! I tried to decorate early this year, but just didn’t have the time. I even decorated my entry way on 12/23! And that’s only because we had a family party on 12/24 – otherwise i would have just skipped it.
Christmas mantle and tree…i bought all the ornaments @ JoAnns about 5 years ago. They are all silver, light blue/turquoise and sparkly! A lot of them are vintage looking too – which i love.
My tree is only 7.5 ft tall and we have tall ceilings, so i always put the tree in a big outdoor pot to give it some height. It works out perfect.
I threw some silver balls in a old tool box that i have filled with candles…
Here i put a vintage sled on my dining table and then filled it up with candles, ornaments and a little bit of fresh greenery…
For my entry, i had planned on making something to fill up the wall, but i didn’t get to it in time. But my cute friend Shelley from The House of Smiths posted about these way cute chalkboard printables from Caravan, which was perfect timing – thanks Shelley – you saved my day!! I downloaded @ printed (at Staples) the giant poster the day before Christmas Eve! It was the perfect thing to fill up the big empty space that is waiting to be re-decorated.
After i hung the poster, i just added some live greenery, put up a few glittery paper snowflakes and called it a day.
And that’s pretty much it! I didn’t do much decorating this year, which was nice when i went to take it down a couple days ago! But i thought i would post the few things that i did put up – better late then never right?!
Happy New Year!!
