When i first got this Lane cedar chest, i almost didn’t want it because its not exactly my style – but i am so glad that i took and it and got it done.
Now – i would definitely put this piece in my house – it would be so cute in a kids room as a side table/nightstand or would be the cutest TV console in a kids playroom.
I could totally design a playroom around this piece – throw in some funky retro fabrics, some fun chairs (bean bag chairs?!) and you would have yourself a fun playroom!
Before…with that hardware it looks a little space like!
After…
SO MUCH BETTER!! Would for sure be a fun piece for someones room!
Paint = Grassy Meadow by Olympic
Top stain = Classic Black Polyshades by Minwax
Hardware = Lowes
This piece is available for sale if you are local to Utah (or if you want to drive here!) – go to {Sweet Pickins} for more info :)
If you are able to remove that base, in the future when you (or someone else) is ready for a redo, you could give that an entirely different look by adding different style legs or creating a completely new base for it. It's actually a very versatile piece that landed in your lap. :-)
Love Lane cedar chests! My mother had one that is now in my sister's home. Those things were built like an army tank! So solid.
