I have this little space behind the couches in the family room and didn’t know what to do with it. One day i was in my grandmas garage and found this old nightstand – it had junk on it piled to the ceiling (you think i am kidding!) and it was filled with crap. So i snatched it up…it will be perfect with a little love :)
I found out that this was actually my grandpas parents nightstand – so that makes it really old, it still had the original paint – it had never been touched. But, the yellow just wasnt working for me. So white she went…
Do you see that empty frame above? It did have a mirror but right after i finished it – seriously like a week later – the kids broke it!! It had been empty for about 6 months but then i got this mirror the other day for $5 at the DI – sweet!
The mirror frame itself is oak, but the swirly stuff inside it actually plastic. I just painted it white and sanded the edges and wa-la, gorgeous! What about the model, is she cute or what?!
I still need to get some knobs and then it will be done (maybe i should put the original’s back on, hmmm?). Then i need to put something above the mirror – the ceilings are really tall, but i am waiting until i hang some drapes -another project that is 98% done :)
And, a little sneak peak about what i am working on next…
I am linking this up to Metamorphosis Monday @ Between Naps on the Porch

Love the mirror! What a transformation! And yes, your model is adorable – love the expression she has in the pic =)
LOVE this dresser, mirror, and bird cage. Older furniture is just made better than stuff today. You kept its character, yet let it be up to date. Lezlee

SCORE on the mirror! Love how the pieces came together.
Wow, i am amazed what paint and a little sanding can do to a piece of furniture. I am going to challenge myself to look for items at the DI that I can change up with some paint etc. Wish me luck, it will take me forever since I'm new to this whole idea..certainly not a natural yet!
p.s. I am one of your new followers. ;)
